RE: Heads up- Get your Class A non-commercial

I have a drive appointment in Fullerton next Tuesday and they said I needed someone with me, but none of my friends have passed yet. Ideas to get around it? For the regular Class A or the Non Commercial Class A? If it is the non-commerical, I believe you can just show up.
Im taking the non-com A.

RE: Heads up- Get your Class A non-commercial

For those of you have taken the skills test recently, did you have "licensed driver" with you when you showed for your appointment?

RE: Wolf Pack 30WP/ 2500 HD enough???

Is the 2500hd diesel, 8.1, or 6.0?
The 6.0 would be hurting a bit, but with the others you should be good.

RE: Anyone user the Dexter Over/Under on a WW SuperLite?

I used them on our FS2500 because I found then on a deal. I did throw a couple beads down on them just to be safe. In all it was an easy, complete kit.

RE: Cost to switch from one 12 volt to two 6 volt batteries

I think its a bit much as others said. Of course it depends on the 6v they are using.
-6v from Sams, $67 x 2 = $134
-2 boxes from Arrow Trailer, $35
-1 foot cable with ends, under $20
So if your comfortable doing yourself, it's under $200. But then you'll get addicted and want to start adding more...

RE: VuCube??

We have one and are using it with Directv. It works great. The first time getting familiar with it might take some extra time, but now I am normally locked on in just a minute or so.

I have had very good results using a Condor chock for our Harleys. Very stable and
easily adjustable for other bikes.

RE: Am I nuts??

We actually seriously thought of keeping our Superlite when we got our CL just for the same reasons. During the summer we go up to Mammoth a lot and would be easier for shorter trips with just our street toys. Storage was our big issue, so the Superlite ended up going...

RE: decision on tow vehicle

DMV issue:
You will have a very, very hard time registering a new out of state "49 state" vehicle in CA due to CA emissions. I would not even try it.
If used it must have 7500 miles. The DMV will recognize any out of state taxes you paid and will credit that toward CA tax at your county's rate.
BTW- Your truck is prob. is running back and forth across the border here or in AZ. F250/350's have been the pick of the coyots.

RE: Need Advice on Upgrade of 2000 1500 Silverado

I don't think going to a 6.0, 4l80, and larger rear end would be worth it. Especially with your truck only having 55k miles. Yes, it will pull better, but not worth the cost and headache. I would give a run to hills and see for yourself. If anything, just have the gears redone for about $600. If your not comfortable, sell what you have and get a 2500. You would get the bigger engine and suspension components instead of just bandaiding it. Lots of the 3/4 ton trucks are going cheap with gas what is now. I think your 1500 will be fine though.

RE: 5th Wheel Hitch

I have as well. As others posted, it is very easy to remove if needed yet very solid. The latching mechanism locks onto the pin with a very positive engagement, I have never questioned if I am secured or not.
The best prices I have seen on them is on Ebay hands down.

Just but mine in. Don't know of a brand name, but your local rv supply shop should have one or can get one. Pluged right in, no need for any wire splicing.

RE: california licence

Yes, in CA pull trailers 10k+ need a non-com A. Same if pulling a 5th 15k+. 5ths between 10k-15k, you need an RV endorsement on your class C.

RE: 2008 WW FSC 3200 cost to flip axles?

Did mine myself also. Dexter has a no-weld kit, but I threw a few beads down also.
As mentioned, make sure you get a good jack and jack stands. I would recommend leaving it hooked up to the TV to reduce the chance of it slipping off. For me, I got 2 axles done in about 2.5 hours.
